The atmosphere at Liverpool is changing with top players viewing the club as a place to stay rather than a stepping stone to bigger clubs and this is making Jurgen Klopp.
In the next few weeks Mane is going to sign a new contract with Liverpool and it’s going to be a long-term contract.
In the latest piece of good news for the club this summer, the Senegal star joins fellow Reds frontmen Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in committing his future to the club.
Sadio Mane has decided to join his fellow forwards at Liverpool in signing a long-term contract and dedicating his future to the club.
This is good news for Liverpool since they will be retaining their forwards; Roberto Firming, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah.
Despite often being less heralded than the other members of Jurgen Klopp’s fearsome attacking trio, Mane, 26, still hit the 20-goal mark last season.
Despite being belittled among the Liverpool fearsome trio, at age 26 Mane has been able to hit a total number of 20 goals in the previous season.
It includes his goals in the Champions League for Liverpool and also that equaliser he scored against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Though he has three years left in his current contract, it has been reported that Klopp wants him rewarded for his time at the club.
Leaving Southampton in 2016 in a £34million transfer deal, Mane has played 73 games for Liverpool and has scored 33 goals.
His fellow team mates Salah and Firmino have both signed new five-year contracts this summer with a wage of £200,000 and £180,000 per week respectively and Klopp has a strong belief that Mane will also be awarded a similar wage offer.
The German believes the willingness of these high-profile names to remain with the club, despite interest from elsewhere, shows how Liverpool are no longer a stepping stone to bigger things.
Klopp believes that the willingness of these players to stay at Liverpool despite interests from other bigger clubs has shown that Liverpool is no longer a stepping stone to bigger clubs but it has indeed become a bigger club.
He also claimed that the atmosphere at the club changed with Philipe Coutinho leaving for Barcelona in January transfer window, Klopp said: “We are Liverpool as a team and the boys want to be part of it.
“That’s really cool and it’s a big achievement for the club because these boys, Bobby Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, and a lot of the others as well, could play for pretty much any team in the world.
“That’s how it is and a good sign for the club.
“It is an improved situation that these players don’t use us and then go.
“It’s cool but now we all together have to deliver. Sign your contracts but now, go again.”
Liverpool have spent £175m on new signings this summer, and they showing signs that they could be the number one contenders for the Premier League 2018/2019 season.
